Countries I've visited: I’ve been fortunate enough to explore Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Thailand, Singapore and Vietnam, gaining firsthand experience in some of the world’s most family-friendly and culturally rich destinations. These travels have given me valuable insight into what makes each destination special and how to help my clients make the most of their own adventures.
My favourite destination: It would have to be New Zealand in winter. There’s something truly magical about the snow-capped mountains, the crisp, fresh air and the energy of ski season. I love the thrill of snow sports which makes New Zealand such a special destination for both adventure and relaxation, and its right across the ditch!
Why I started Byford Travel Agent: After COVID, I noticed a real shift in these online booking platforms, prices went up while customer service went down. I wanted to change that. By starting Byford Travel Agent, my goal was to bring back the personal connection, honesty and care that people deserve. I believe every holiday should feel special, not stressful and that genuine service should never be a thing of the past.
My best travel tip: Take your own pillow, even if you have to vacuum-bag it! You can’t take your whole bed with you, but bringing your own pillow gives you at least a 50% chance of a good night’s sleep, no matter where in the world you are. Comfort makes all the difference when you’re on the go. And hydrate!! The plane is extremely dehydrating, so I always take a sachet of electrolytes and a large water bottle on board.
